Director K S Ravikumar has confirmed that the shooting of 'Manmadhan Ambu', the Kamal Haasan-Trisha starrer, is over and post production works of the multi-crore project are currently on.

"We have completed the talkie portion by shooting most scenes on a cruise liner. The movie will be a novel treat to the audience", the captain of the ship says with all confidence.

"The highlight of the story is the script penned by Kamal sir. It is so innovative and filled with comedy, suspense and romance. It was fun working with Madhavan, Trisha and Sangeetha", he further says. On the producer, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Ravikumar says, "This is the second time I am working for him (the first time was for 'Aadhavan'). His passion for cinema is great and he is ready to spend to present quality entertainers".

Namitha was shocked to find herself being kidnapped by a youth when she was at Trichy airport. The 26-year-old Karuppusamy informed Namitha that he was the car driver sent by her event organizers to transport her to Karur where a function to felicitate actor SS Rajendran was to take place.



The actress went along with him and the real driver who was supposed to drive Namitha to Karur alerted the event organizers.


After a long chase, the car was intercepted and Karuppusamy was arrested. He revealed that he was an ardent Namitha fan and did not mean any harm to her. Karuppusamy also told the police that he merely intended to drop her off at the function venue. The police are further investigating this issue.

Uthama Puthiran has become the much awaited movie among Dhanush fans as the star has failed to deliver hits in the recent past. Director Mithran Jawahar and Dhanush share a very good rapport between themselves as they have worked together in films like ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’, ‘Kutty’ etc. For the first time Genelia has shared the screen space with Dhanush. Genelia has made a comeback into Tamil movies after quite a long time. His Telugu remake movie ‘Kutty’ did not do well at the box-office. Uthama Puthiran is the remake of Telugu super-hit movie ‘Ready’, is all set to grace theatres on October 5. The latest buzz is that the film will released in 600 theatres across the country.
The film, starring Bhagyaraj, Jayaprakash and Vivek in important roles, has already wrapped up the shoot. Produced by Balaji Studios Pvt. Ltd., Uthama Puthiran is Dhanush’s third movie with Jawahar. The film has tremendous title value, as it is a Sivaji Ganesan super hit title of the 1960s.

Dayanidhi Alagiri’s Thoonga Nagaram, directed by debutant Gaurav, a former associate of K.S. Ravikumar, is all set to grace theatres in mid December.


This film based on Madurai backdrop, Thoonga Nagaram casting Kalavani Vimal, Bharani and Nishanth as the male leads and Anjali as the female lead. Moreover wielding the megaphone, Gaurav dons an important role in the film. Sundar C. Babu of Anjathey fame is the music director. The movie has cinematography by Vijay Ulaganathan, a former associate of K.V. Anand. Editing is by Suresh and art by Santhanam. Union Minister M.K. Alagiri has a cameo appearance in the film.
