The release of choreographer-turned-director Lawrence Raghavendra's Kanchana, the sequel to Muni, has been postponed to July 22, 2011. The film, which was to grace theatres this week, is delayed due to the release of Vikram's much hyped Deiva Thiirumagal. However, Anushka will not be a part of this project. Lakshmi Rai will play a prominent role in the film. Interestingly Sarathkumar plays the role of a transgender in Kanchana, produced by Sri Thenandal Films. Kanchana is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and music is composed by Thaman.
