The dubbed Telugu version of Tamil hero Karthi's super hit flick Paiyya, directed by Lingusamy under the banner of Thiruppathi Brothers and Cloud Nine, will grace screens across Andhra Pradesh as Awara on May 14. Tamannaah is the heroine.
The Tamil version, released on April 2, grossed Rs. 12 crores in the first three days and was declared a commercial success within a few days. Music is composed by Yuvanshankar Raja.
Shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and several important towns in Andhra Pradesh, the film revolves around Shiva (Karthi), an engineering graduate who is on the lookout for a job in Bangalore. One day, he meets Charu (Tamannaah) at a bus stop and falls in love with her at first sight.
Later, Shiva meets Charu and her uncle in a railway station and they mistake him to be a cab driver. They ask him to drop them at Chennai. At one point, when they stop at a petrol bunk for refuelling, Charu ask Shiva to start the car, leaving her uncle behind! There begins the racy action journey of Paiyya.
