Even as Superstar Rajinikanth announced his next project Friday late evening, a buzz was doing rounds in film circles that Kamal Haasan has also made a decision on his forthcoming venture.
“The film will be directed by Selvaraghavan, who impressed the Ulaga Nayagan long back. It will go on floors once the director completes his upcoming movie Irandam Ulagam,” say sources.
“It is a novel and interesting script and both are excited to work together. Selvaraghavan considers this as a bumper prize. In all probability, he will start the project by March,” they add.
Remember Kamal Haasan’s last release was ‘Manmadhan Ambu’, which hit the screens during the fag end of 2010. “The actor’s new project with Selva is expected to have a late 2011 release.”
Finally, Vijay will be joining the 3 Idiots camp on February 7th, 2011! Shankar and team are presently camping in Ooty where the 3 Idiots remake is being filmed and Vijay will join them early next month.
The film’s music director Harris Jayraj has scored a song already and this will be filmed on the lead pair Vijay and Ileana on his first day on the sets. After all the hype and hoopla and rumors surrounding the 3 Idiots remake, it is now certain that it is safely tucked under Vijay’s belt.
There was a lot of speculation on who would don the lead role in this remake, which was originally done by Aamir Khan in Hindi, with names like Vijay and Suriya hitting the spotlight. Finally, it fell into Vijay’s kitty!
The forthcoming film of Vikram, which is being directed by ‘Madraspattinam’ fame Vijay, is slated for an April release. “Deivamagan is one of the titles we are considering, but a final decision is yet to be made,” the director says.
“We have decided to present the film to the audience as a bigger summer treat by releasing it in April. But producer Mohan will take the final call,” Vijay, who earlier directed ‘Kireedam’ and ‘Poi Solla Porom’, says.
Heaping laurels on Vikram, he says, “He is one of the finest actors we have. For each and every scene, he would come out with five different expressions, asking him to select one of them. Such a great artiste he is.”
Saying that Anushka and Amala Paul are very much part of the project, he says, “both have good roles and they are giving their best. The film is no remake of a Hollywood flick, as claimed by some people.”

இந்தப் படத்தை தமிழில் எடுக்கும் உரிமையை ஜெமினி நிறுவனம் வாங்கியபோதே, அதன் ஹீரோ விஜய்தான் என்று முடிவு செய்திருந்தனர். 6 மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பே இதுகுறித்து விஜய் பேட்டியும் அளித்திருந்தார். விஷ்ணுவர்தன் இந்தப் படத்தை இயக்குவார் என்று கூறப்பட்டது. சிம்புவும் நடிக்க சம்மதித்திருந்தார்.
ஆனால் இடையில் ஏகப்பட்ட மாறுதல்கள். எந்திரன் ரிலீஸானதும், ஷங்கரிடம் இந்த புராஜெக்டை கொண்டுபோனார்கள் ஜெமினி நிறுவனத்தினர் (எந்திரன் வெளியீட்டாளர்களும் ஜெமினிதான்!). அவரும் இயக்க ஒப்புக் கொண்டார்.
ஆனால் ஷங்கர் இயக்கும் இந்தப் படத்திலிருந்து விஜய் நீக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என 'முக்கியமான இடத்திலிருந்து' தயாரிப்பாளருக்கு பிரஷர் வந்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் இதைப் பெரிதாக்காமல் அமுக்கிவிட்ட மீடியா, ஷங்கருக்கும் விஜய்க்கும் பிரச்சினை என்றும், விஜய் கெட்டப் மாற ஒப்புக் கொள்ளவில்லை என்றும் கிளப்பிவிட்டன. இத்தனைக்கும் வேலாயுதம் படம் ஷூட்டிங் போய்க் கொண்டிருக்கும் போதே, 3 இடியட்ஸுக்காக கெட்டப் மாற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்தார் விஜய் என்பதை ஒருவரும் சொல்லவில்லை!
ஒரு கெட்ட தினத்தில், விஜய் இந்தப் படத்திலிருந்து விலகிக் கொண்டார் என அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவித்தது ஜெமினி. ஆனால் ஷங்கர் வழக்கம்போல மவுனம் சாதித்தார்.
அதன் பிறகு இந்தப் படம் குறித்து யோசிக்கும் நிலையில் விஜய் இல்லை. காவலன் அவரை அந்தப் பாடு படுத்தியது. அதை வெளியிட்டு முடித்து, பாக்ஸ் ஆபீஸில் படம் சூப்பர் ஹிட் என ரிசல்ட் வரும் வரை விஜய்யால் வேறு எதிலும் கவனம் செலுத்த முடியவில்லை.
இதற்கு நடுவில் 3 இடியட்ஸில் நடந்த சமாச்சாரங்கள் ஒரு மெகா சீரியலுக்கு சமமானது.
விஜய் நடிக்கவில்லை, அவருக்குப் பதில் சூர்யா நடிக்கிறார் என்று ஜெமினி நிறுவனம் அறிவித்ததிலிருந்துதான் பிரச்சினை ஆரம்பமானது.
பெரும் வாய்ப்பு, பெரிய இயக்குநர், பெரிய நிறுவனம் எல்லாமே தன்னை மிக எளிதாகத் தேடி வந்ததால், சூர்யா தன் பங்குக்கு பெரிதாக பிகு பண்ண ஆரம்பித்தார் என்கிறார்கள்.
இயக்குநர் ஷங்கருக்கு எக்கச்சக்க கண்டிஷன்களைப் போட்டார். தெலுங்கிலும் நான்தான் ஹீரோவாக நடிப்பேன் என்பது அவரது முதல் கண்டிஷன். மகேஷ்பாபு அங்கே விலகிக் கொண்டதால், இருக்கட்டும் பரவாயில்லை என்று தயாரிப்பாளர் ஒப்புக் கொண்டார். ஷங்கர் மவுனம் காத்தார்.
அடுத்து, இந்தப் படத்துக்கு சம்பளமாக தமிழில் ரூ 12 கோடியும், தெலுங்கு விநியோக உரிமையில் 50 சதவீதமும் கேட்டாராம் சூர்யா (கிட்டத்தட்ட ரூ 10 கோடி இதன் மதிப்பு). அல்லது ஏதாவது ஒரு பதிப்பின் வெளியீட்டு உரிமையை தனது உறவினரின் நிறுவனத்துக்கு தரவேண்டும் என்றாராம். ஆடிப் போனார்கள் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள்!
அடுத்து அவர் வைத்த ஒரு மெகா கண்டிஷன்... மூன்று மாதங்கள் வரை காத்திருக்க வேண்டும். அதாவது உதயநிதியின் 'ஏழாம் அறிவு', கேவி ஆனந்தின் 'மாற்றான்' படங்களை முடித்துவிட்டு வரும் வரை ஷங்கர் காத்திருக்க வேண்டுமாம்!

ஆனால் ஷங்கர் மிகத் தெளிவாக இருந்தார். 'மெயின் ஹீரோ யார் என்பதில் ஒரு முடிவுக்கு வாருங்கள், அதுவரை சும்மா இருக்க முடியாது' என்று கூறிவிட்டு இரண்டாவது ஹீரோ ஜீவா, மூன்றாவது ஹீரோ ஸ்ரீகாந்த் மற்றும் சத்யராஜூடன் ஊட்டிக்குப் போய் ஷூட்டிங்கையே தொடங்கிவிட்டார் கடந்த ஜனவரி 25-ம் தேதி.
சூர்யா வேண்டாம் என்று முடிவு செய்த ஜெமினி, மீண்டும் விஜய்யுடம் பேச முடியுமா என இயக்குநர் ஷங்கரைக் கேட்க, அதற்காகவே காத்திருந்த மாதிரி சட்டென்று விஜய்யைத் தொடர்பு கொண்டாராம் ஷங்கர்.
காவலன் வெற்றி என்ற திருப்தியிலும், அடுத்த சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு அரசியல் இல்லை என்பதில் தெளிவாகவும் இருந்த விஜய், எடுத்த எடுப்பிலேயே எந்த நிபந்தனையுமில்லாமல் சம்மதம் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.
வேலாயுதம் படத்தின் சில காட்சிகள் எடுத்து முடிந்ததும் படப்பிடிப்புக்கு ஆஜராகிவிடுவதாகக் கூறிவிட்டார். அதன்படி பிப்ரவரி 7-ந் தேதி முதல் விஜய் படப்பிடிப்பில் கலந்து கொள்கிறார்.
ஒருவழியாக 3 இடியட்ஸ் குழப்பத்துக்கு ஒரு நல்ல க்ளைமாக்ஸ் கிடைத்துவிட்டதாக கமெண்ட் அடிக்கிறார்கள் கோடம்பாக்கத்தில்!
படத்துக்கு இப்போதைய பெயர் மூவர். விரைவில் இந்தப் பெயர் மாறக்கூடும்!!!
But again, the creative difference between Shankar and Suriya seems to have popped up resulting in abrupt conclusion. Vijay is busy now shooting for the film ‘Velayudham’ and will soon schedule dates for the project.
Meanwhile, Shankar is planning to shoot the portions involving Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana and Sathyaraj in Ooty by next week followed by a long schedule in Dehradun.

National award winning filmmaker Bala, who is busy giving final touches to his first comedy caper ‘Avan Ivan’, has said that his next movie would feature a newcomer in the lead role.
“My films always demanded an actor, and not a star. Even Vikram, Suriya, Arya and Vishal were like new faces when they came to me. My forthcoming film will sure have a debutant as the protagonist,” he said.
‘Avan Ivan’, which has Vishal and Arya in lead roles, is expected to be a straight contrast from Bala’s earlier ventures. Produced by Kalpathi Aghoram’s AGS Entertainment, the movie has been announced as an April release.
“I am indebted to each and everyone who are watching my movie, for they are spending two hours of their lives to see my film. My request to them is to judge my movies alone and not me,” added Bala.

Today is the birthday of Shruthi Haasan, the young multifaceted personality of Tamil cinema. And the actress-singer-music composer will celebrate it in a simple way.
After a gap of three long years, the daughter of Kamal Haasan will spend the day with her family members. "No big party. It is going to be a quiet day for me," she says with a smile.
Currently acting opposite Suriya in '7am Arivu', Shruthi's recent Telugu release 'Anaganaga O Dheerudu' with Siddarth has gifted her rave reviews. "It feels great to be part of a good film," she says.
In Bollywood, Shruthi will be there in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next. "Though I am busy with acting now, I am always interested in music. I will come back to composing after some time," adds she.
Vijay will be seen with two actresses Genelia and Hansika Motwani in this film. Actress Saranya Mohan plays his sister in this movie. He is now busy shooting for the film with Genelia. Till now, they have shot just a love scene in Chennai.
The film will have music by Vijay Anthony and it is being produced by V. Ravichandran under his banner Aascar International.
Vijay’s last film Kavalan with Asin Thottumkal was released on January 15 with quite positive reviews and is slowing coming out as a Box Office hit.
Director Jeyam Raja started shooting for Velayudham on July 15, 2010. We hope the fans of Vijay line up for this movie the same way they did for Kavalan, which was released during Pongal. The festive season attracted more audience the theaters. But the same guaranteed for Velayudham, which is releasing in June.
Well, we hope Vijay is not left disappointed by his fans on his birthday and they offer him another big hit by appreciating the movie on his birthday.
Director Gautham Menon's much-hyped Nadunisi Naaygal, starring Sameera Reddy and newcomer Veera, has received an A certificate from the Censor Board recently. The film is all set to grace theatres on February 11, 2011.
Nadunisi Naaygal narrates a series of events happening in a night and its duration is 90 minutes. Interestingly, Nadunisi Naaygal has no songs. In fact, this movie does not even have a background score! The film is touted to be the only psychological thriller since Kamal's Sigappu Rojakkal in 1978. Sources close to the director feels that the subliminal social message in film will be appreciated by the audience.
Dharani is right now busy with a Telugu project directing Ram Charan Teja. He will start the film with Vikram once he is done with his Telugu commitments. We are hoping the Vikram and Dharani combo will set the box office on fire.

The winning combo of Dhanush and Vetrimaran are all set to join hands yet again. Their first movie together was Polladavan, which apart from being Vetrimaran’s debut, also gave Dhanush a new dimension as an action hero. The film gave its female lead, Divya Spandana, the much-needed break in Kollywood. Nearly four years after the release of Polladavan, the combination was back with the recent Pongal release Aadukalam which is creating waves at the box office and is also being given a thumbs up by critics. They are to delight us again with another film that would hit the floors in 2012. We hope for a hat-trick!
There is a talk in Kollywood that Suseendran may be roped in direct this film after he completes his a...ssignment with Azhagar Samiyim Kuthirai and another film with Vikram in the lead

The upcoming Tamil movie titled ‘Ko’ is directed by K.V. Anand. It is well known that young artists Jeeva, Ajmal Ameer, Karthika Nair and Piaa Bajpai are playing lead role in this movie. Veteran actress Radha’s daughter Karthika is debuting in Kollywood through this movie. Jeeva plays a photo journalist who clicks some sensitive things in his camera. Music for this movie is scored by Harris Jayaraj.

“Gear up for ‘Mappillai’ next. Completely opposite genre to my recent release (‘Aadukalam’). It is an April release,” the Mappillai of the Superstar says with optimism.
Directed by Suraj, the film has Hansika Motwani as heroine and Manisha Koirala as the all-powerful mother-in-law. “Though the original script is racy, necessary changes have been made for the present day audience,” says the director.
Dhanush is currently busy with ‘Venghai’, his first outing with ‘commercial specialist’ Hari. For the film, he has made some changes to the chain of the rudraksh he wears. “I have changed the chain into a long one for ‘Venghai’. I will never take it off,” the actor says.
The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup will take place between February and April 2011 and will be hosted jointly by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The sporting event kick starts with the opening ceremony on February 17, 2011.

The latest buzz is that the producer is considering Gopichand for the lead role played by Vijay in Tamil. Both the Tamil and Malayalam versions were directed by Siddique.
The producer is of the opinion to get it made in Telugu by the same director but it is not yet finalised.

The makers informed that the film will hit screens on February 4. The film was earlier supposed to reach screens in December, but was later postponed to avoid clashing with Nagarjuna's other film Ragada.
Gaganam/ Payanam revolves around the hijack of Indian Airlines plane IC 814. What would be the mental status of the passengers during the hijack would be a thrilling experience for the audience, the makers said. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while cinematography is by K.V. Guhan.
There is more on Vijay's future plans. Yesterday we said that Vijay has selected his next three producers of his films and he is hoping the experienced hands will further help him to retain his reputation that was lost and found.
Vijay who met the media has further talked about the kinds of films he would be doing in the future. Vijay wants to do a film in the line of Rajini's 'Raja Chinna Roja' which will cater entirely to the children audience. He is also interested in doing a radical film that will talk about the dwindling of agriculture and the lives of farmers.
Meanwhile there is an interesting stat out in favour of Vijay. According to a random survey conducted by the students of Statistics Department from the reputed Loyola College has revealed that Vijay's films are box office hits irrespective of their success in first release.
They say after MGR and Rajini, it is only Vijay who has repeat audiences for his films. After the two legends only Vijay films are having re-releases in single screens and over a period his films end up as commercial hits.
Not that all. The survey reveals another fascinating point. Even in video piracy markets, Vijay films fetch huge profits, much more than films of any other actors of today. Even the catastrophic 'Sura' turned over around Rupees 4 crores in the piracy market it says.
But the rise in popularity has also made Santhanam costlier. The comedian who was getting remuneration depending on the budget of the film has now consolidated his fee. The new rate card says Santhanam is charging Rs. 30 lakhs for a film which will take only 15 days of his work. If one needs more days, he will be charging an additional 5 lakhs per day.
Wonder how many comedians managed to reach this height before in the early years of their career!
