Ajith and Chakri Toleti (of Unnaipol Oruvan fame) are all set to begin the most awaited Billa 2 in Hyderabad this weekend. The latest addition to the cast is Vimala Raman. The actress will reportedly play a small and powerful character in the film. This prequel is produced under the banner of Wide Angle Creations (led by George Pious and Suresh Balaje, son of producer-actor K. Balaje, who produced the original Billa with Rajinikanth in 1980) and presented by Mumbai based Sunir Kheterpal, CEO of IN Entertainment (India) Limited, part of the Hinduja Group. Popular model Huma Qureshi, who has done ads for many leading brands, will play the love interest of David Billa in this film.

Billa 2's technical team includes cinematographer Hemant Chaturvedi, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. Other details about the cast and crew will be finalized soon.

Thala is going for a young and energetic look in ‘Billa 2’, which will go on floors by the end of June or by the beginning of July this year.

“I am fast completing the shooting of Mankatha. Because Ajith has to hit the gym for Billa 2, for he has decided to reduce weight to get a fresh look,” says Venkat Prabhu, the director of Ajith’s 50th film.

Directed by Chakri Toleti of ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ fame, ‘Billa 2’ will be a prequel to ‘Billa’, Ajith’s 2007 hit inspired by a blockbuster of the same title starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role.

Says Ajith, “I am eagerly looking forward to do Billa 2. It is an energetic team and the script is so powerful and interesting as well. Both Mankatha and Billa 2 will be important movies in my career.”

Ajith was actively involved in the penning of the screenplay for Asal and will now do so for Billa 2. Director Vishnuvardhan had readied a screenplay for Billa 2 and had the approval of Wide Angle Creations to go ahead with the film.

However, Vishnu was busy with the Arya starrer Sarvam at that time and the project could not take off leading Ajith to sign up Venkat Prabhu’s Mankatha. Now, Vishnu is concentrating in a Telugu flick that has Pawan Kalayan playing the lead and hence he is not in a position to direct Ajith in Billa 2.

Following this, Ajith and Chakri Toleti, the director of Unnai Pol Oruvan, are jointly penning a new script for Billa 2. The project is expected to go on floors as planned in April or May this year.

பில்லா பட தயாரிப்பாளர்களான சுரேஷ் பாலாஜியுடன் மற்றும் வைட் ஆங்கிள் நிறுவனத்துடன், இப்படத்தை தயாரிக்க போவது, இந்தியாவின் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க தொழில் நிறுவனமான ஹிந்துஜா குழுமத்தை சேர்ந்த IN Entertainment (INE) நிறுவனம் ஒப்பந்தம் செய்து உள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில், தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் தரப்பு தெலுங்கு படத்தை ஒத்திவைக்கும்படியாக விஷ்ணுவர்தனிடம் கோரிக்கை விடுத்தது. பில்லா 2 - ஒரு பெரிய பட்ஜெட் படம் என்பாதால், இயக்குனர் விஷ்ணுவர்தன் முழு கவனமும் இப்படத்தில் செலுத்தவேண்டும் என்று அவரிடம் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

ஆனால், இயக்குனர் விஷ்ணுவர்தன் தெலுங்கு படத்தை கைவிட முடியாத நிலையில் இருப்பததாக தெரிவித்து இருக்கிறார்.

இதை தொடர்ந்து, அதிரடியாக விஷ்ணுவர்தன் இப்படத்தில் இருந்து நீக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறார்.
