The title of Vijay-starrer Kaavalkaran has been changed to Kaaval Kaadhal, which was reported a few days ago. The reason for the name change is cited to be the objection raised by Sathya Movies, which owns the title and other rights of the 1967-released Kaavalkaran. MGR and Jayalalitha had starred in this film.

Sathya Movies had sent a letter to the Producers’ Council stating that it had not parted with the title of Kaavalkaran and hence the name should not be used for the Vijay-starrer. Following this, the title has been changed to Kaaval Kaadhal.
Enquiries in Kollywood revealed that Kaavalkaran the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit film Bodyguard is a short-term project. The film’s shooting had begun a month ago and had been moving on at a rapid speed. Going by the words of industry sources, Kaavalkaran could be completed in June or July.

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay, who plays the male lead in this film, will then move on to a project that is to be directed by Jayam Raja and produced by Aascar Films. If everything falls in place, Raja and Vijay would begin the project once the latter completes the Kaavalkaran assignment.

Meanwhile, there is a buzz going on that Vijay will don one of the roles in the remake of 3 Idiots. This film’s Tamil rights have been procured by Gemini Film Circuit. It is worth mentioning here that Vijay had expressed his desire to work in this remake when his fans wanted to know if he would.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay will start the first schedule of director Siddique’s Bodyguard remake in Chennai from Thursday, April 1.
The only common factor between the Malayalam and Tamil version is writer and director Siddique, who has made some minor changes in the Tamil version to suit Vijay’s image.
Vijay will play the role done by Dileep while Asin is going to do Nayanthara’s role in the Malayalam original. Thyagarajan who had a pivotal role has been replaced by Raj Kiran in the Tamil version.
National award winning music director Ouseappachan’s replacement for the Tamil version is Vidyasagar. S Kumar who was the cameraman in the Malayalam version has been replaced by ace cameraman and Vijay’s current favourite Ekambaram, who has also done the actor’s Sura.
Vadivelu gives Vijay company in the comedy dapartment along with MS Bhaskar.
