Shankar is the man with the golden touch and there is no doubt that all the leading stars want to work with him. It is also well known that Suriya is one of the most commercially viable stars in tinsel town today. With this being the present scenario, the two may join hands to create box office magic. The director is working at a rapid pace to finish his remake of 3 Idiots, Nanban in record time. Once that is finished he is eager to get started on a fresh project. The script is ready and word is that Suriya will be doing the lead role.
The actor was supposed to work with Shankar in Nanban but that did not pan out. This time around it looks like everything has fallen into place for the top star as well as the ace director. This combination is sure to be a winning one as both are perfectionists with amazing track records at the box office.
The music launch of film maker Murugadoss' much awaited 7Aum Arivu will take place at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai soon. The film is based on a circus artiste and Suriya plays the role of a trapeze artiste cum animal trainer. Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, sources reveal that Suriya will be seen in a dual role, playing a contemporary character in one scene and another through flashback, in a previous birth. Interestingly, in this film Suriya, has performed all the circus acts himself without using a body double in any of the sequences. Besides his circus acts, the actor will also perform several innovative stunts in the film. A special trainer from Rajkamal Circus was appointed to teach him the jumps and other special items he performs in the movie.
According to sources, Suriya is also planning to perform the circus stunts he has learnt during the 7Aum Arivu music launch for his fans.

The music will be scored by Harris Jeyaraj and Subha and KV Anand will take credits for the script. The film is in its pre production stage and the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized. All of AGS Entertainment’s movies are made in a huge budget and Maatran will be no different.
It is known that KVAnand is awaiting the release of his much-expected movie Ko starring Jiiva and Suriya’s 7am Arivu with Murugadoss is in the final stages of shooting.

தன்னை திரையுலகிற்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்திய தயாரிப்பாளர் கஷ்டப்பட்டால் ஓடிச்சென்று உதவும் நட்சத்திரங்கள் இருக்கும் அதே திரையுலகில் அறிமுகப்படுத்திய தயாரிப்பாளருக்கே அல்வா கொடுக்கும் நடிகர்களும் இருக்கத்தான் செய்கிறார்கள். அப்படி அல்வா கொடுப்பதில் முன்னணி இடத்தில் இருப்பவர்களில் முக்கியமானவர் சூர்ய நடிகர். நேருக்கு நேரான படத்தில் அறிமுகமானாலும் அவரை முதலில் நாயகன் ஆக்கியவர் சிவமான சக்தி தயாரிப்பாளர்தான்.
இளம் இயக்குனர்களின் கலங்கரைவிளக்காக திகழ்ந்து வந்த அந்த தயாரிப்பாளர் காதல்கோட்டை, காதலே நிம்மதி, கனவே கலையாதே என நிறைய ஹிட் படங்களை கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். பின்னொரு காலகட்டத்தில் கஷ்டமான சூழ்நிலைகளை தாண்டி, இப்போது புதுப்படம் ஒன்றிற்காக சூர்ய நடிகரிடம் கால்ஷீட் கேட்டிருக்கிறார். இதோ... அதோ.. என்று ஜகா வாங்கிய அந்த நடிகர் கடைசியில் கால்ஷீட் இல்லை என்று அல்வா கொடுத்து விட்டாராம். தான் அறிமுகப்படுத்திய நடிகர் தனக்கு உதவி செய்வார் என எதிர்பார்த்த தயாரிப்பாளர் விரக்தியில் இருக்கிறார்.
இவர் இப்படியென்றால், அந்நிய நடிகர் அதற்கு மேல் அலம்பல் பண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறாராம். புதிய டைரக்டர்களின் படங்களில் நடிக்க மாட்டேன் என்பதை கொள்கை முடிவாகவே வைத்திருக்கும் அவர் சினிமாத்துறையின் நடிகராக அறிமுகம் ஆகும்போது புதுமுகம் என்பதை மறந்து விட்டாரோ என்னவோ.
அதேநேரம் விஜய் நடிகர் இந்த விஷயத்தில் ரொம்பவே நல்லவர் என்று போற்றுகிறது கோடம்பாக்கம். காதலுக்கு மரியாதை கொடுத்த படத்தை தயாரித்த சங்கிலி, கஷ்டமான காலகட்டத்தில் விஜய் நடிகரிடம் கால்ஷீட் கேட்க, அவருக்கு உதவும் விதமாக கால்ஷீட் கொடுத்து படத்தையும் குறிப்பிட்ட நாட்களுக்குள் முடித்துக் கொடுத்தார். சுறாவான அந்த படம் எதிர்பார்த்த அளவுக்கு ஓடவில்லையென்றாலும் படத்தை முதலில் தயாரித்த சங்கிலி தயாரிப்பின் கையை கடிக்கவில்லை. அவருக்கு லாபத்தை கொடுத்த படமாகத்தான் அந்த படம் இருந்தது.
அறிமுகப்படுத்திய தயாரிப்பாளருக்கு அல்வா கொடுக்கும் நடிகர்களை குறிப்பிட்டு ஒரு சினிமா விழாவில் சங்கிலி தயாரிப்பாளர் பேசிய பேச்சு இந்த செய்திக்கு பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும் : ``ஒரு பட விழா நடைபெறும்போது, அந்த படத்தில் நடித்த நடிகர்-நடிகைகள் கலந்துகொள்வதில்லை. கேட்டால், டெல்லியில் இருக்கிறேன்...மும்பையில் இருக்கிறேன் என்று பதில் சொல்கிறார்கள். ஒரு படத்தை தயாரித்து, அதை திரைக்கு கொண்டுவருவதற்குள் தயாரிப்பாளர் படும்பாடு கொஞ்சநஞ்சமல்ல. தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் எவ்வளவு கஷ்டங்களை அனுபவிக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை வார்த்தைகளால் சொல்ல முடியாது. உதவி செய்யவில்லை என்றாலும், சம்பந்தப்பட்ட படவிழாக்களில் நடிகர்-நடிகைகள் கலந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும். ஒரு படம் வெற்றிபெற்றால், அந்த வெற்றியில் படத்தில் பணிபுரிந்த அத்தனை பேரும் பங்கு போடுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் தோல்வி அடைந்தால், அந்த பாதிப்பை தயாரிப்பாளர் மட்டுமே சுமக்கிறார். வெற்றியை பங்குபோடுகிறவர்கள், தோல்வியையும் பங்கு போட்டுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும், என்று கூறியிருந்தார் அந்த தயாரிப்பாளர்.

Now that Ajith and Gautham Vasudev Menon have parted ways from doing a film together, it is said that the filmmaker would now make the movie with his favourite actor Suriya as the protagonist.
“Gautham likes to work with Suriya very much and he feels that the actor would suit to any kind of role. Hence his next choice for the project, which is a thriller, would obviously be Suriya”, say sources.
Tentatively titled ‘Thuppariyum Anand’, the film is set in pre-Independence era. “It is about a detective who zeroes in on culprits involved in sensitive cases in his own style”, sources in the know maintain.
One more interesting buzz about the project is that Gautham Menon has signed British Model Amy Jackson, who played the lead role in ‘Madrasapattinam’, for the heroine role. “His favourite cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is busy doing research for the film”, sources add.

A grand audio launch function is being planned for 'Vamsam', a film which would mark the arrival of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's grandson Arulnidhi Thamizharasu as hero.
If sources are to be believed, the music release event is scheduled in Chennai on July 2. The Chief Minister would preside over the function and would release the audio.
And the first copy would be received by Vijay and Suriya, the two top league actors of Tamil cinema. Many big guns of Kollywood would attend the grand function, sources maintain.
Arrangements for the event are being made by M K Thamizharasu, Arulnidhi's father and the producer of 'Vamsam'. Directed by Pandiraj of 'Pasanga' fame, ‘Vamsam’, set in the backdrop of a village in southern Tamil Nadu, has Sunaina as heroine.

The Fourth Annual UniverCell Vijay Awards took place at the Nehru Indoor Stadium on May 29th amidst much fanfare. The event was a grand affair with many film stars, technicians, producers and directors attending the function.
A press note from Vijay TV states: “Of the 131 films released in 2009, winners from 32 different categories were announced in the evening’s awards ceremony.”
Here are the details of some of the awards presented:
Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award Ganesan Award for Excellence in Indian Cinema: Superstar Rajnikanth.
Best Entertainer of the year award: Actor Suriya.
Favorite Hero award and Favorite Heroine award went to Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay and Anushka respectively for the film Vettaikaran.
Favorite Film award went to Ayan.
Samuthrakani (Nadodigal) won the Favorite Director Award.
Oru Chinnathamarai from Vettaikaran was awarded the Favorite Song of 2009.
The award winners in the 27 BEST categories were chosen by the eminent jury members
Best Actor of the year 2009: Prakash Raj for the film Kancheevaram.
Best Actress of the year 2009: Pooja for her performance in Naan Kadavul.
Best Director Award: Bala for Naan Kadavul.
Best Supporting Actor Male and Best Supporting Actor Female were won by Jeyaprakash (Pasanga) and Abhinaya (Naadodigal) respectively.
Best Film Award: Nadodigal.
Best Comedian Award: Santhanam for Siva Manasula Sakthi.
Best Villain Award: Rajendran for Naan Kadavul.
Best Debut Actor Male: Vimal (Pasanga).
Best Debut Actor Female: Ananya (Nadodigal).
Best Cinematographer Award: Manoj Paramahamsa (Eeram).
Best Editor Award: Srikar Prasad (Eeram).

The fourth Annual UniverCell Vijay Awards powered by Rin was conducted in Nehru Indoor Stadium on Saturday (May 29) evening.
It was a star studded affair. Hot and happening stars like Kamal Hassan, Suriya, Vijay, Anushka, Reema Sen, Prakash Raj were among the dignitaries.
Of the 131 films released in 2009, and winners from 32 different categories were announced in the evening's awards ceremony.
The best actor of the year 2009 was given to Prakash Raj for Kanchivaram while Pooja was awarded the best actress award for her outstanding performance in Naan Kadavul. Nadodigal bagged the Best Film Award.
